San Diego Physicians Medical Group/Scripps Physicians Medical Group
San Diego Physicians Medical Group/Scripps Physicians Medical Group was established in January 1998 as the result of a merger between La Jolla IPA (incorporated 2/1/91), Health East Medical Group (incorporated 1/24/90), and Chula Vista IPA (incorporated 4/22/91). The individual groups and the merged entity have been clients of SCPMCS since our inception. This IPA consists of more than 500 physician providers who serve patients across San Diego County. SDPMG/SPMG maintains contracts with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Health Net, UnitedHealthcare, and numerous PPOs.
